Bova Corp. had its humble beginnings firmly established when family patriarch Pete Bova started the business on the South Side slopes of Pittsburgh in 1972.  His goal was to use his skills as a respected craftsman in metal fabrication to build a business in which he could take pride…and one that would support his growing family.  The company flourished and Pete eventually moved the operation North to Valencia, PA in 1993 to better accommodate the needed shop space for Bova’s growing business.

Son Dean and his wife Beth soon joined the business in leadership roles.  Today, they are actively involved in strategic planning, growth strategies, day-to-day operations, client satisfaction, purchasing, and billing.  In fact, the business recently added its third generation, with grandsons Chris and Matt taking on major roles as the Director of Sales and the Director of Manufacturing, respectively.

The Bova campus is currently home to over 40 employees, and includes a 70,000 square foot shop, a distribution center, an administrative building, and a warehouse — with room for future expansion.  The company respects old world craftsmanship and traditions of the past…with a keen eye towards the technology of the future.  With an emphasis on hard work and exceptional customer service, Bova continues to expand their capabilities, meeting the demands of the custom food service manufacturing and architectural metals industry with enthusiasm, confidence, and a win-win attitude.     

Facility Expansion Success

Recently, it became clear to the leadership team that they needed to expand the operation above and beyond the current footprint.  They began planning for a vertical addition to the current facility, building up and over our existing shop floor to house growing project management, engineering, estimating, and CAD teams – bringing the staff physically close in order to improve communication and collaboration.  This shift would also open up capacity on the shop room floor, allowing for more equipment, materials,  and resources.     

Work began in the Fall of 2022, with careful consideration given to future growth, technology needs, collaborative space, storage, and administrative support.  They also wanted to make client visits to our facility more informative and productive.  The entire process took about six months and one of the key goals of the project was to keep a “business as usual” atmosphere, even though many team members were temporarily displaced in various corners and cubbies in our complex.

They were able to move back into the fully updated facility in the Spring of 2023, and they are very pleased with the result.

Bova is NSF and UL Certified.  The NSF mark is your assurance that a product has been tested by a trusted independent certification organization. UL Certification illustrates Bova’s dedication to consumer safety and quality.  The company has a great bi-directional relationship with Local Sheet Metal Workers Local Union 12, which further trains and certifies Bova employees.
